Minoh Falls, Osaka
It has been a year since me and my wife visited this very beautiful place. February of 2025 was spent by us exploring Osaka. We were there the year prior, in June of 2024; but, was sadly there for only a day. Obviously, it wasn't enough.
We then made sure and prayed, God willing, that we get to visited Osaka again and we did.
During that trip, the highlight for me was really the time when we hiked going to Minoh Falls.
Let me be clear, though, it wasn't really the destination or the falls itself that became the highlight, rather the highlight was the hike going to Minoh Falls.
As soon as we arrived in Minoh station, after having to take three different train lines, we immediately started the ascent going to Minoh Falls. I used the word ascent; but, it wasn't really so much of ascent, or you won't feel the ascent as it was very gradual.
The greens and the scenery during the hike was just spectacular. I can't seem to place my finger around the reason that it was a beautiful scenery; however, just truly being in that place is just being, overall, beautiful.
Mind you, while I was enjoying the hike and the beautiful greens and the beautiful scenery, me and my wife had to rest multiple times in our ascent as we eating the dust of old folks passing us by as if the hike was nothing to them, and these folks were not walking slowly, they were borderline brisk walking.
I can remember so vividly as I was hiking, I told my wife that I won't have any issues living in Minoh. The tranquility and the non-fast pace of life in the life is just so inviting.
But, I found myself as I'm writing this that I have the same comment in almost all places that I have been to in Japan: I won't have any issues living [insert a beautiful place's name in Japan here]. Japan is just that beautiful. Aside from the beauty, it has perfectly matched with security.
Of course, it may not be for everyone as I also hear people who are living in Japan stating that it's a good place for tourism and not for living. There may be some truth to it, especially on the part of the person saying it, as the things being observed by one may just be true to him or shared by some or many; but, not by most. However, this doesn't make the observation less true, especially to the one claiming it; however, it not also be holding true to someone who has a different observation.
This is true due to the fact that not all circumstances are the same for each and every individual. This is the exact reason why some people are sad while others are happy. Mainly because of the differences of the circumstances being encountered.
It's the same for living in Japan, others find comfort, happiness and security. While others find the exact opposite of those qualities.
Anyway, stopping with the philosophy.
Sadly, we failed to explore Minoh City as we only focused on going and hiking going to Minoh Falls.
As we received in Minoh Falls, it was beautiful; but, not beautiful enough for me to be in awe, at least for me. I may have also remembered my wife having the same exclamation. This is mainly because, going back to the different circumstances being presented to us, that I have experienced having seen a much more majestic waterfalls. Take the Kawasan Falls in Badian, Cebu.
While the Kawasan Falls itself is beautiful, I cannot state the same for the surroundings of Kawasan falls nor to the hike going to the falls.
The gallery below are some of the pictures I took while hiking going to Minoh Falls. The very first picture that's appearing in the gallery is the very last picture I took in Minoh. Enjoy.
