Forgiveness, they say, is a gift we give ourselves. It's a statement that I've come to understand deeply. It's not about condoning the actions of others, but about liberating ourselves from the prison of resentment.
My journey began with a heart encased in walls, a fortress built against the potential pain of vulnerability. But these walls, once a source of perceived security, became a suffocating cage. With each passing day, I realized that the true prison was within me, not the world around me.

Opening my heart to the possibility of forgiveness was terrifying, but it was also profoundly liberating. It was like stepping out into the sunlight after a long winter. There were days when the shadows of anger and resentment crept back in, but with each passing moment, the light of forgiveness grew stronger.
Forgiveness isn't about forgetting, but about refusing to be held captive by the past. It's about reclaiming your power and choosing peace over bitterness. It's a journey, not a destination, and every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory.
